Why we moved to TN

I thought I'd share with y'all a little about why we made the big move from Texas to Tennessee.
In a nut shell....we were ready for a change and God provided a way.
Let me give you a little more than that! I grew up coming to the Smoky Mountains with my family. We would camp out in the Cades Cove campgrounds. One time my grandparents rented a big RV, that was so much fun!
My dad's dad, the only grandpa I have, was raised in Sevierville. He went into the navy in his teens, met my gran, and they eventually settled in TX where she's from.

I guess I never downloaded these so a screenshot of the back of my camera is all I have!
My last visit was when I was in my early teens. Fast forward approx 15 years and that's when we decided to move. We had just found out we were pregnant (only our parents knew) and were on a trip with my in-laws. The destination was Shenandoah Valley in W. Virginia but when I saw how close we would be to this area I begged my husband to drive through. We stayed in Gatlinburg and took a trip through Cades Cove. I was home!

Walking the streets of Gatlinburg my husband asked if I would ever live here. Seriously?! Of course! So there it was.

It was difficult breaking the news to my family and friends especially coupling it with the news we were having a baby. There were lots of emotions going on. Ultimately we knew it was the right decision.
We had tried to few times to buy a house in TX and it simply didn't work out. We prayed and prayed over this decision. It was a more difficult move for me than my husband. He'd moved around already for work and military. I hadn't moved ever in my life. All my family and friends were in TX. It still hits me every now and then and I have a good cry.
It's been the hardest and most exciting thing (besides having my son) that I've ever done. Oh and he was only 1 month old when we moved. Yea, we're nuts!!
I've discovered lately more about my deep roots in TN through the historic library and geneology center in Knoxville. It's pretty cool! I'm just so happy we did it!
